Service terms

The terms, in one page

Everything below is already published elsewhere on this site — on Services & Pricing and How It Works. It is collected here so that nobody has to assemble it from four pages. Last updated 21 October 2026.

This is a summary, not the contract. A signed service agreement governs each engagement. Where this page and a signed agreement differ, the agreement governs — and if you spot a difference, tell us, because the two should never disagree.

1. What we are

CnCraftAgent is a purchasing and sourcing agency based in Nanjing, China. We act as your agent. We are not the seller of the goods, we do not take title to them, and we do not hold stock.

2. The fee

Our service fee is 10% of goods value, with a US$300 minimum on orders below US$3,000. Below that threshold the effective rate is higher than 10% — on a US$1,000 order the fee is 30% of goods value.

The fee is agreed in writing before sourcing begins and invoiced separately from the goods. A 30% deposit is payable before sourcing starts; the balance is payable before shipment.

Included: sourcing and shortlisting, sample coordination, workshop communication in Chinese and English, pre-shipment inspection with a photographic report, consolidation handling, and export document preparation.

At cost, with receipts: sample cost and courier, domestic freight between workshops, warehouse storage during consolidation, international freight and insurance, and duties or taxes in the destination country.

Quoted separately: more than three distinct SKUs (US$80 per additional SKU), custom artwork or packaging development, third-party laboratory testing, and on-site factory audits.

There is no other charge. We do not take a commission from the workshop, a rebate from a forwarder, or a spread on freight.

3. Who you are buying from

The contract for the goods is between you and the workshop. You pay the workshop directly. Where you ask us to handle the transfer, we do so as a disclosed collection agent only: the funds are not our property, and we do not use them for anything else.

The workshop's own terms — lead time, payment schedule, tolerance, warranty — apply to the goods. We negotiate them on your behalf and put the agreed specification in writing before production starts, but we do not replace the workshop as your counterparty.

4. Inspection

Inspection is carried out against a checklist agreed with you before production begins: quantity, dimensions, weight, colour against the approved sample, finish, hardware and packing. Defects are photographed and counted.

If something fails, we raise it with the workshop and press for replacement or credit before the goods leave China. That action is included in the fee. Whether a defective piece is ultimately replaced, credited or refunded is decided under your contract with the workshop.

Items outside the agreed checklist are not covered — laboratory testing, food-contact certification, and anything that happens after the goods are handed to the carrier.

5. Where our liability ends

We warrant that we performed the sourcing, verification and inspection as agreed. We do not warrant the goods themselves. Our liability on any order is limited to the service fee received for that order.

Title and risk in the goods pass to you when they are handed to the carrier or your forwarder in China, unless your agreement states otherwise. Transit damage and customs outcomes after that point are outside our control and outside the service.

6. Samples

Samples are charged at cost plus courier and are not refundable. They exist so that the bulk order can be checked against a physical object rather than a photograph, and that is the whole point of paying for one.

7. If an order stops

If you cancel after sourcing has begun, the fee for work already performed is payable, along with any cost already committed on your behalf — a sample in production, a deposit paid to a workshop, freight already booked. We will show you what was spent before we invoice it.

8. Categories we do not accept

Food, tea, alcohol, dietary supplements, cosmetics, essential oils, liquids and pastes, plant-based incense and herbal sachets, medicines, and any material from protected species. These require licences we do not hold. Ceramics and glass are accepted only where food-contact documentation is provided by the workshop and verified before production.

9. Law and disputes

Governing law, jurisdiction and the dispute procedure are set out in the signed service agreement. We do not state them here, because a summary that differs from the signed document is worse than no summary at all.

Nothing on this page is an offer for sale of goods, and nothing on this site should be read as one. For data handling, see Privacy.
